Our next guest is only 13 years old, but already she has worked with Brad Pitt,
Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise, and now Robin Williams in Jumanji, which opens on Friday.
You know, when I was 13, I didn't even know the alphabet.
Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Kirsten Dunst.
That's nice. All of a sudden, I'm Emmett Kelly. I don't know. Well, Kirsten,
welcome to the show.
Thank you very much.
Are you having a happy holiday season?
Yes, I am, and I get to go to Las Vegas for New Year's.
Oh, my gosh. How did that happen? Your family is taking you to Las Vegas?
Yeah, my mom's girlfriend. I don't know. She's getting a complimentary suite
and everything.
We're going to go gamble.
So it's a weekend for the girls in Las Vegas.
Yeah.
Have you ever been there before?
Nope, I've never been there.
Now, you can't gamble. You're only 13. Do you know that?
I know, but she lets me, you know, pull it and run.
Yeah, that's a federal violation. You'll go to prison.
Oh.
You think twice before you do that.
Okay.
How do you like being an actress?
Oh, I love it.
How long have you been doing this?
Since I was three years old, I've been doing commercials and print and stuff.
Three years old? What was the first commercial?
Kix cereal.
You were like the Kix girl? You're eating the cereal and stuff?
Yeah, Kix. I'm like, there was this thing on this box that says, you know,
kid tested, mother approved or whatever.
And so my brothers are, you know, all eating Kix, and I'm like,
oh, I know, but I'm not going to tell what it says and everything.
So, yeah, it was a pretty cute commercial.
Now, at three years old, did you have any idea what you were doing?
Not really.
No, but, no, I had fun doing it.
Yeah, I'm 48.
I don't have any idea what I'm doing.
I was on your show when I was little.
I know.
You were on the old NBC show.
Now, to refresh my memory, what did you do?
Okay, once there was this, the safe crackers of the world were on.
That's right.
We had safe crackers from all over.
I don't know.
They were trying to bust into a dressing room or something.
I don't recall.
And I handed flowers out to the winner.
What was the time?
Three minutes and 12 seconds.
Oh, look.
Lovely.
And here we have the...
Just like you did here tonight.
Yes.
Well, that's very nice of you.
How did you like...
Actually, it looks kind of droopy.
No, just fine.
I'm the one who looks droopy.
That's not true.
Oh, thank you.
How was it working with Robin Williams?
And also our friend Bonnie Hunt is in the film.
Oh, I love Bonnie.
You know what we used to do every single day at lunch?
Is I'd come into our trailer and we'd watch old movies together like Viva Las
Vegas and Bye Bye Birdie.
And we'd watch my sister Eileen and what else did we watch?
I think we watched Music Man, too.
So that's how you would spend your time on the set.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And what was working with Robin Williams?
Like, he's a little goofy, isn't he?
Yeah, he is.
But he's so nice.
He was such a nice guy.
Was he fun to be around?
Oh, hilarious.
You know, he's on all the time.
Where?
Oh, you mean like he's on?
He's always just going a million miles.
Yeah, it's registering.
Yeah.
And did he do things to amuse you?
He did Nell.
Nell?
Jodie Foster.
Jodie Foster, yeah.
Going to the McDonald's drive-thru, he'd be like,
Cheeseburger with fries and flying in the wind.
It was really funny.
It was really funny.
Now, you were in a movie with Brad Pitt, right?
The vampire deal?
Yeah.
And you, in one scene, Brad Pitt kisses you.
Yeah, but it was just, it was just like, I thought that was all.
Not that big a deal?
Yeah.
Was this the first time you'd kissed a boy in a film?
In a film, yes.
Uh-huh, but.
Look out.
No, no, no, no, no.
In kindergarten, you know how all the little girls chase little boys around the
playground
and try to kiss them and everything?
Wow, they do?
They do.
They do.
All the little girls do.
And was it odd that all of a sudden you get this big-time movie star that's
going to give
you a kiss?
And you were, like, even younger then.
Oh, I didn't like it.
I was still, you know, boys had cooties age, so.
Well, I know for a fact Brad Pitt does have cooties.
And Mickey Rourke.
Stay away from Mickey.
He really has cooties.
And I said a lot that Brad had dry lips.
Dry lips?
And he said he should use some Blistex.
But see, I just made that excuse up because I didn't know what else to say.
You're going to be an actress the rest of your life?
Is this what you want to do?
Hopefully, yeah.
So you really enjoy it, then?
Yeah, I'd like to write and direct, too.
Really?
You're 13.
At 13, I had a paper route.
And you're a cheerleader at your school in California, aren't you?
Yes.
And you have a little cheer for us tonight?
I made up a cheer for you.
I made up top ten with Dave.
Do you want your stuff?
Do you want your things here?
Okay.
Okay, here are these deals here.
Wait, where's my blue one?
Well, your blue one's right over here.
I'm going to get it for you.
There you go.
Thank you.
Okay.
And I'll be right here with the flower.
Ready?
Ten.
He's got great hair.
Nine.
He's got cool teeth.
Six.
He's got the greatest fan.
Five.
He's got peluche for two.
Oh.
Three.
We love this mom.
Two.
Yeah.
One.
We love this show.
That's very, very sweet.
Thank you very much.
I hope the movie's a huge hit for you.
Thank you.
Say hello to our friend Bonnie when you see her.
Oh, no.
She says hi, too.
Thank you very much.
Kirsten Dunst, ladies and gentlemen.
We'll be right back.
That was very nice.
