Hi, everybody. It's me, your old TV pal, Dave. This is my old TV pal, Paul. And
Paul introduced
the young, lovely woman sitting to your right. I shall guess my lovely daughter
and what she is
doing. I'm telling you, I'm so proud. It's Victoria Schaefer, Victoria Lilly
Schaefer.
Hi, Victoria. Hi. Where are you now, Victoria? I'm at home in Los Angeles with
all of my
dogs and foster dogs. Humphrey, my special needs bulldog and two of my bottle
fed foster puppies.
Oh my. Wow. That's great. And Paul, you and Victoria explain what you were
doing for your
daughter and the dogs of California with the auctioning or the giveaway or the
raffle of your
marquee side. Very quickly, when we closed down our show about 10 years ago, I
kept a part of the
marquee, the part that had my name on it. It said, featuring Paul Schaefer and
the CBS orchestra.
We're raffling it off. And it's been about a week or so on the market. And we're
now in the last 24
hours of the raffle, $10 a ticket, and you can get a part of history, a part of
our show.
You forgot you're also including a signed jacket from you guys.
Signed jacket. Now, let me jump in here. First of all, this is not a brand new
effort for Victoria.
This woman has been doing this with and for her life and animals in California
for years now.
And she needs a little extra financial push here to move to a bigger facility
to expand what she is
doing for people and their dogs and fostering dogs and then matching them up
with suitable owners.
I think that's part of it. And look at Humphrey. Hey, pay attention here. He's
not listening.
Humphrey is one of the dogs who benefited before I foster failed, we call it.
And I adopted him. But
he was completely paralyzed. And someone left him on the side of the street.
And now he can run. He can
go upstairs. He's pretty normal. He's a little wobbly, but he's living a normal
life. And then these guys
here are bottle-fed babies. Their mom passed away during labor. And if it weren't
for supporters,
we are spending hundreds and hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars on two months
worth of formula
and food. This raffle specifically is going to go towards the space we're
opening, 4,000 square
feet in Pasadena that's going to house so many dogs in need and also open up to
the community in need
doing spay and neuter clinics, vaccination clinics, food drives, all sorts of
sorts of things like that.
Because there's a real crisis in Los Angeles right now. And also what Victoria
is not mentioning,
each weekend there will be a brunch and a bowling at the facility. So that's
great. Sign up.
The schedule. Don't really stay late. That's why this raffle is so important.
And something for the kids,
right? That's free balloons for the kids. There you go. Now I'm feeling at home.
Let me see if I can get
my dog in here. Come here, Dutch. Come here. Dutch, come here. Dutch, come meet
Humphrey.
There he is right there. Can you see? Hi, buddy. Hi, Dutch. Oh. He's about as
attentive as Humphrey.
Yes. Humphrey's looking up in the ceiling somewhere. I don't know.
Paul, what is your take on this? You're taking half? Is that what you get?
Just, whatever I take, I take. And you know, but by the time it attacks, I'm
being robbed silly
by taxes. You know that. No, it all goes to Victoria's Rescue, which is called
Pup Culture,
by the way. Look at Humphrey. Look at Humphrey. Like his book. Where's Humphrey?
Humphrey couldn't hear a lot about anything. And she's got Alfie is in her room
too, somewhere.
That's right. Come on. She's got four of her own, you know. Oh, look at that.
Look at that. That's
very sweet. Thank you, everyone. Thank you. Thank you, Paul. Bye.
Bye. Beautiful day. Thank you. Goodbye, Humphrey. Give us a good night to Dodge.
Bye, Dodge.
