- You introduce your little friend there in the band.
- Grown man, talking about a grown man.
Now this guy, I gotta say,
I've been listening to this guy since I was a little kid.
I first saw him on American Bandstand.
Dick Clark referred to him in a certain way,
and I want to introduce him the same way.
The golden twang of Mr. Dwayne Eddy.
- Dwayne Eddy.
- He's joining us.
Unbelievable thrill to have him in the band.
- Hot in here.
Dwayne, thank you very much.
- He'll be playing with our band all through the night,
and then also featured on a solo.
- Yes indeed.
- What are you playing this evening?
- Rebel Rouser.
- Rebel Rouser.
- Rebel Rouser.
- All right.
Playing with our band tonight is one of the legends
of rock and roll with such all time classics
as Rebel Rouser and 40 Miles of Bad Road.
He was the man who created the twanging guitar.
He will be appearing in person on October 17th
here in New York City at the Ritz,
and then on the 19th at the Meadowlands.
Please welcome once again, Dwayne Eddy.

- All right, Duane, thank you very much for being here.
You sound terrific.
- Well, thank you.
- Can you show me on this guitar,
which, by the way, is a Duane Eddy guitar, isn't it?
- Right.
- Yeah.
- How old is that?
- It's about 23 years old.
- And they're still making them, right?
You said they just started making them again?
- Yeah, they just started remaking them.
- Can you show me there what you do
that makes your guitar playing sound so much different
than it is?
- Yeah.

- You have a lever.
- Yeah.
- Yeah.
- Yeah.
- The twanger we call it.
- Did you record one of the first,

- That's what the people that research that type of stuff tell me.
They say that it was the first.
- What was the name of it?
- Have Twangy Guitar Will Travel.

How did it sell?
Did it do all right?
- Oh, yeah.

Tomorrow night, folks, Chad Atkins, Penn & Teller,
and Phil Donahue.
Thank you very much.
Good night.
