earlier this week uh our next guest uh reprised her role as brenda walsh on the
series uh 90210
that's history yeah it airs uh tuesday nights uh on the cw right there on the cw
please welcome
the lovely shannon doherty they are the same shoes they are in fact the same
shoes yeah those
are beautiful i really like those thank you thank you and you have it looks
like an interesting uh
tattoo there on your ankle what is that referencing what does it uh it's uh it's
to do with my catholic
heritage from way back right way back this is when catholic schools are
routinely would get tattoos for
the kids oh yeah that's what i was you think nuns are tough now wow that's yeah
uh well welcome back
we haven't seen you since 1996. it's been a long time yeah yeah what's it like
going back onto this
90210 show it's fun it's a it's a totally different show actually except for
you know a couple of us
that are returning for a few episodes but it's fun it's a great cast a great
crew our producers are
amazing um so it's fun it's a totally different show in what sense is it
totally different just
because of the different cast it's just a different cast they have a they're
they're all very different
personalities than we were back then and uh and they certainly knew what they
were getting into when
they signed up for the show so they're they're very well prepared huge success
for the cw network
i understand yes it was do you know are you familiar with other zip codes of
other southern california
communities i am yes remember to say compton would you know what that would be
um i don't actually
know compton like woodland when downey i know like malibu and and i know parts
in the valley yeah
do you live in malibu i do live in malibu oh those poor people they get the the
fires and then
the mudslides come along and they put out the fires it's uh it's crazy isn't it
dangerous to
live there it's pretty crazy i uh i got evacuated with the last fire out of my
house goodness at
like four or five o'clock in the morning and i was outside i you know
helicopters going everywhere it
felt like i was at a war and they were hovering over my house draining my pool
to go help put out the
fires and i ran and i got my dogs first and foremost got my dogs out of my
house put them into my car
then i walked back in my house and said what do what do i take in there i have
all this beautiful
artwork and jewelry and everything and i stood in front of my shoe closet and
um
and i grabbed as many pairs of my shoes as i possibly could good for you threw
them in my luggage
you'll never regret that like to hear that
and was uh was was your property was your neighborhood all right was it spared
we were
we were fine but more importantly my shoes were okay that's right uh and and uh
tell me about your
summer what kind of things do you do i guess you when you're on tv like that
you got to work through
the summer do you have time off or i have some yeah i have some days off what
kind of stuff are you
doing um well i have horses so i ride my horses it's actually amazing that i
was able to walk out here
a horse fan one one one person um i uh that was quite odd it was um yeah that
was
what did you say what are you jockey weird
it's bizarre uh and what can tell me about your horses what kind of they're
really big they're uh
holsteiners and hanavarians oh the hanavarians are enormous aren't they
enormous enormous and uh
i hadn't ridden in a couple of months because i hadn't had time and i went out
and and i had a
friend coming out actually and i wanted to look like a really good writer and
impress him and so
i rode two of my horses in a row and and by the time i got off i couldn't walk
and it still feels
like i have you know this 1800-pound animal like between my legs wow
well i'll take your word for it yeah
um but is it because you hadn't ridden in a while it's because i hadn't ridden
in a while
so i'm a little uh sore i'm gonna stop do you uh now i i don't uh i don't uh i
enjoy riding i enjoy
writing but i don't like horses do you get along with your horses i i get along
with almost all of
my horses i i had this brat of a horse named louisito and he hated me he's he's
thrown me off like
two or three times knocked me unconscious split my tailbone in two and i didn't
really understand
right because like i'm paying for him to eat that's right that's exactly right
the minute i would walk
into the barn he would like you know his ears would get pinned back and he
would bare his teeth and
he'd try he'd lunge out to try and bite me yeah and so i sold him good for you
but but why is it my
that's my premise that they just they don't like you i mean as long as you're
not writing them as
long as you give them treats and doing that to them they're fine once you get
on all that stuff
disappears they don't have any memory of that whatsoever you're just you're
just the thing they
want off their back pretty much yeah they don't want you up there yeah why
would they yeah it's
dangerous for god's sakes yeah well i mean you know yeah you wouldn't like it
if i was writing you
so now you see that's a different you bring out the worst that's a whole
different deal there
uh well shannon it's nice to see it's been was it 12 years 13 years i think
that's ridiculous it's
pretty ridiculous and we have the same birthday is that correct april 12. well
how about that there
you go glad to hear that so i hope you come back and uh the show 90210 uh tuesday
nights on the cw
shannon doherty ladies and gentlemen nice job
