welcome back to the show thank you hey I want to tell you something you look
fantastic I think you've lost some weight Dave apparently I was fat I had
gained a hundred pounds since I retired and I've lost 44 I've got to lose my
trainer wants me to lose about 85 pounds but apparently I was really fat first
of
all how did you gain so much weight that's a lot of weight to be putting on
oh eating eating the only way to gain that much weight is eating you know I
mean that's that's all it I guess you're right yeah it's just that simple it is
that simple yeah now how do you go about taking it off I mean I'm working out
about five hours a day you know I get you know I got to ease up on the potatoes
he's up on the pasta you know you know clearly you can't be eating a lot of
cooks and cookies and candy first of all that was a dirty trick to put the
cookies
in my locker room I have to always be on guard I can't ever let my guard down
well
that's see that that's the problem I've had this discussion with a lot of
people
and it comes down to the the cultural dynamic of food and nutrition in this
country what does that mean it means what you said everywhere you go there are
cookies for
god so there are cookies and I tell you what those there's two things oatmeal
raisin and white
chocolate macadamia nut cookies call the cops oh call the cops oh my god but I
had to I had to
turn it off when I went in the dressing room I was like oh my god yeah but you
know and you
probably know this as well the less of that stuff you eat the less you want of
it that's not true
now we got a guy on our staff who weighed to 360 pounds wow yeah 360 pounds so
he went on a diet
where he eats nothing but wheatgrass you know wheatgrass what is that it's it's
they grow it's grass and then
they juice it and it's the juice of the wheatgrass and eats nothing but that
and he's lost a hundred
and I think 103 pounds 103 pounds just he'll need anything but wheatgrass that's
it yeah have you
ever had it what a damn fool
here try one of these try one
I'm telling you I'm telling you this is as bad as you'll ever taste honestly
just toss it right back
it's awful
that's awful
it was two of them I know I'm saving I'm saving one for our we have we have
other guests who was that
guy anyway who was the guy who eats that he's right over there Eddie Brill
right there that guy right
there lost 104 pounds congratulations on the weight loss yeah yeah that awful
wow all right now straighten me out on something and and I think you're the guy
to do this I I can't
tell you uh how disappointed discouraged and uh outraged I was about LeBron
James uh jumping ship
and going to Miami well you know LeBron I'm not upset he went to Miami I'm
upset the way he handled it I
think number one he should have called the Cavaliers in advance and that little
decision thing was very
silly LeBron I think he's the best player I think he's a great kid I wish he
had a state in Cleveland
but he could have wrote made that city rise up because he made that city into
the place to be the last
that's right seven years and now it's back to be in Cleveland yeah
you're right now you see well he it's just I mean you're absolutely right
now is he better than Kobe Bryant I think he's better than Kobe Bryant I think
Kobe's a better closer
I mean Kobe Bryant I would never say this that anybody's comparable to Michael
Jordan but Kobe
Bryant's the closest I've ever seen he is spectacular yeah now listen I think
that he should have said
okay his contract was up is that what the deal was yes okay let me sign I'll
sign for Cleveland for
two more years he's still going to be a kid at the end of two more years yes if
we haven't won
the title in two more years there's not a fan in Cleveland not a fan in Ohio
that would begrudge
him free agency or taking a job someplace else but you know at this point give
it one more shot I mean
they've been in the playoffs they've been in the playoffs they've been in the
playoffs but as you
know Cleveland uh he pretty much took the heart out of that town well I think
if you win a championship
in Cleveland it would have did so much just for the whole city sure but they
haven't won anything
since Jim Brown was there and there's no well I can say that it ain't like you
got to win the
championship yeah I mean it helps yeah excuse me but you know it would have
been some honorable about
trying to bring a championship he would have been such a hero if he had stayed
if he had turned down
all the opportunities and stayed in Cleveland and said by God this is where I
was born this is where
I played my high school basketball and I'm going to stay with Cleveland another
just another contract
extension and that would have been incredible and the world would have said wow
that's really
admirable that's right that's exactly right but he just he did it ain't listen
I wish him nothing but
the best but it would have been great for him to stay in Cleveland but but how
can you wish him the
best because this to me this was this was he was going to make the same he was
going to make more
money in Cleveland for God's sakes yeah but I don't think like it just would
have been really cool
for him to stay in Cleveland I mean he was born in that area in Akron and
Cleveland lived and died
with him that's right their whole face for that that city with LeBron James
like I say he's going to do
well in Miami but Miami's had you know they've had a bunch of things I mean
they're in Miami so they
gonna have a good time yeah yeah if he had stayed I'm telling you if he had
stayed in Cleveland uh his
status as a human being forget as an athlete his status as a human being would
have elevated uh
beyond anything we've ever seen in basketball I 100% agree with that yeah do
you know LeBron
uh I know him vaguely yeah I like him see he's been on the show many times and
I've said so many
negative things about him now he'll never come back oh really he'll never come
back on this show you
know LeBron he needs to come on your show I'm gonna go I'm going to Boston I'm
gonna talk to him I'm gonna get
him on your show you're covering now listen you be here with him
you got a deal okay you got a deal but I don't want him here by himself okay
because he might he
might be a hothead I don't know David everybody likes you let's uh what about
oh the Brett Favre
deal I mean my gosh uh this is the kind of thing you would you would do in high
school you
you know you would you would do this and then stick it up on somebody's locker
it's so it's so
why did you go to high school it's it's such a juvenile thing to have done uh
if in fact he did
it have you ever heard of any of this nonsense before yeah I have as a matter
of fact we that
happened to like three or three NBA players last year they did that why did
they do that it's stupid
isn't it well yeah you got you should never that's like if you do like a sex
tape or something you
should never do that because if you break up with somebody they're gonna send
it out there yeah that's
right no it's like I mean come on you you bitter when you break up you got to
get it out there that's
right yeah you know what you know what I I feel bad for Brett Favre because I'm
a big Brett Favre fan
and but they got him right now boy but let me ask you I I don't know is is what
he did is it is it
illegal to do that no it's kinky and freaky but it's not it's not illegal yeah
you know
but it won't it won't affect his career or as uh I mean uh you see him play
last night
his career is in trouble right now yeah yeah but he'll still get in the hall of
fame don't you think
oh yeah yeah yeah he definitely get in the hall of fame I mean they don't keep
you out the hall of
fame of being freaky oh I didn't know that yeah no that's that's that's that is
good to
know um NBA on TNT and your your first game tomorrow night tomorrow night the
Celtics and the heat
yep there you go we're finding the heat around yeah and then you bring LeBron
here yeah me and LeBron
coming back and I'm gonna try to get Brett Favre too no no no Gerald Barkley
everybody we'll be right back
