Nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you.
What can you tell us of yourself?
You have a lovely name, by the way.
Alison Brie.
Thank you, thank you.
Do you have a middle name there?
It is my first and middle name.
Oh, no kidding.
Yeah.
Alison Brie is two-thirds of your name.
It is, yes.
And?
Are you ready for it?
Yes.
You really want it?
Yes.
Well, my last name is Skirmerhorn.
And that's why I don't use my last name.
Skirmerhorn.
How do you spell it?
S-K-I-R?
No, it's S-C-H-E-R-M-E-R-H-O-R-N.
I believe there's a street in Brooklyn.
Skirmerhorn.
Is it?
Yeah.
People are excited about that street.
Is it Dutch?
It's Dutch.
Oh, how about that?
That was gross.
Nobody knows.
Everyone says German.
And do you have any overweight children?
I have none.
Not yet.
Not yet.
One can only hope.
So where are you from?
I'm from Pasadena.
I'm from South Pasadena, California.
How are things in Pasadena?
A few people again.
They're great.
They're great.
Pretty sunny.
Little old ladies in Pasadena.
Oh, see?
And you're on the community show.
Yes.
And this is an interesting, unusual television show, isn't it?
Yes.
And it has a tremendously fervor, fervent following.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
I mean, I'm pretty sure that the only reason that we're still on the air is
because of our fans.
Our fans are incredible.
They nearly rioted when we were taken off the air in our third season.
Oh.
And so they're sort of, they're really, they're really, really wonderful.
They're the reason that we're still on the air.
Well, that's great to know that these people are in your corner.
They're a small group, but they get into it.
They're really passionate.
Now, speaking about getting into it, we also heard that our friend Chevy Chase
is one of the stars of the show.
He is.
Yeah.
But is he, he's finished this season or he'll be on this season?
Yes.
No, that's what I hear.
Well, the fate of the show is still in the balance.
So we don't know if we're going to come back for a fifth season.
But, but yes, he would not return with us.
Did you have fun working with Chevy Chase?
Yes.
I had a lot of fun with Chevy.
My favorite, my favorite caper with Chevy was one day I'm walking back to my
trailer and Chevy rolls up in a golf cart and just looks at me and goes, get in.
And I mean, you know, you see Chevy Chase in a golf cart.
He had stolen it from product, borrowed it, borrowed it, but they didn't know
that he had it.
So I hop in the golf cart and we go for this joy ride around the Paramount lot.
We're like speeding through productions that are trying to roll.
He's like, don't worry, I'm Chevy Chase.
And we kind of keep rolling around.
We come back around to the studio.
We're sort of like right back to our stage.
As we turn the corner, there's this large van just right in our way.
So there's a big, big trailers on either side of the road and, and this large
van in the middle and this tiny space between the two.
And Chevy looks at me and he's like, I think we can make it.
And I'm like, we can't make it.
It's too small.
He goes, I'm going for it.
Oh, my.
Slams on pedal to the metal, which is about five miles per hour in a golf cart.
I'm like, here we go.
So pedal to the metal, we go slowly careening through and we, we make it, but
we fully knock the driver's side mirror off of the van.
Hit it off the van.
There you go.
It's a lawsuit.
We didn't really make it.
Yeah.
So the guy gets out of the car and gets out of the car and he's like, oh my God,
are, are you Chevy Chase?
Can I get a photo with you?
So we did, we didn't get in trouble.
It was best, best caper I've had on set.
Now when, when you, uh, you're, you're on several shows.
Am I right about that?
It's so many.
Every show.
How many, you're on the community?
Yes.
Also Mad Men?
Yes.
So now when you, when, when you're out and about, what do, do people come up to
you and is it, is it both shows?
Is it one show?
Is it which show?
I mean, how do, how do they connect with you?
It's, it's a little bit of both.
I, um, I've sort of, you know, you start, just when you start to get used to it
a little bit, um, somebody can come up to you and catch you off guard.
So, uh, you know, I'm at the market and a guy comes up to me and he stops me.
Oh my God.
Oh my God.
I'm so sorry.
I, I, I just, I had to stop you.
Um, and I'm, and I'm like, well, what show is he going to be a fan?
Which one is he going to be?
He goes, I had to stop you because your feet, your feet are gorgeous.
Oh, my, he goes on.
My ex-girlfriend had incredible feet and yours are even better.
I was glad that he qualified it with the ex-girlfriend because I knew he was
single and I knew that he was into feet.
Yeah.
So, he goes on.
Had, had you heard this kind of thing before?
Well, there's people, there's people online.
There are actually entire websites of people who just collect pictures of
people's feet.
No, no, but I mean about, about your, your feet.
No, no.
And I was quite flattered.
I was sort of like, oh, thank you.
What an interesting compliment.
And he says, would you mind if we exchange numbers for any time you might want
just a totally platonic foot massage?
Any time it would be totally platonic.
He really sells those two points.
Oh, my God.
And I decline because it seems a little odd, but he doesn't go away.
He follows me around the mark and he comes up again.
He's like, just, I just want to make sure you're not passing up this offer.
Yeah.
So, I do what any girl does when met with an unwanted suitor.
You know, we, we drop the boyfriend card.
We say, you know, I was sort of like, oh, you know, that sounds wonderful.
But, but I think that my boyfriend might be a little weirded out by it.
And he says, well, a little weirded out's not a lot.
Yeah, that's right.
It's a loophole.
I'm not asking to sleep with you guys.
It's a loophole.
I had to give it to him.
I had to give him my number.
I could get amazingly platonic foot massages all the time now.
That's fabulous.
Very nice.
Well, lovely.
Oh, oh.
Very nice.
The show is Community.
And you can see it in its fourth season premiere, February 7th.
Nice to meet you, Allison.
Nice to meet you.
Thank you very much.
Have fun.
Thank you for being here.
Thank you.
