Get that Eddie Vedder sitting in with a band one night.
- Yeah, no. - Get that, will you sit in?
You think, Eddie? - I don't know, right after the show.
- Can you call him? - I don't even know where he lives.
- All right, I know. - Yeah, call him.
Have him sit in an event. I want to hear him doing that.
- Waaa! Waaa! Waaa! Waaa! Waaa!
Waaa! Waaa!
- We gonna hear a little Eddie Vedder later tonight? - A little bit of Eddie.
- A little Pearl Jam, a little black. - You got it.
- Waaa! That's my favorite part of the song when Eddie does this.
Waaa! I have no idea what Eddie's saying.
And then you do what? - Nene, nene, nene, nene, nene.
- That's right, it's a great song. Waaa!
- Nene, nene, nene, nene. - Goes on for about an hour. Waaa!
- Nene, nene, nene, nene. - Okay, I'm starting to get on my own nerves.
Also on the program this evening, Chuck Norris, who happens to be Chuck Walker,
a Texas Ranger.
- Walker, Texas Ranger. - Yeah, Texas Rangers is tough, buddy.
That's the elite of the elite. That's the cream of the crop, the creme de la
creme.
If you don't mind a little French there, you don't mind a little French, do you?
- No, parlez-vous français. - Waaa!
- Nene, nene, nene, nene. - Yeah. Waaa!
- Nene, nene, nene, nene. - Waaa!
- Nene, nene, nene, nene. - Waaa!
- Nene, nene, nene, nene, nene. - Waaa!
- Nene, nene, nene, nene, nene. - Eddie seems like a very troubled young man.
- Well, I don't know, but...
- Well, thanks for your thoughtful insight.
- Well, if we had time. We don't have time later.
- Of course we don't have time to go into Eddie Vedder's problems.
- Paul, now, are we going to hear Eddie Vedder tonight?
- Of course we are. - Are we going to hear Black?
- Yes. - Because that was The Doors.
That's a 40-year-old song. - That's correct.
- Is Jim Morrison still dead? - Yes.
- All right, okay. - Last I heard, yes.
- Hey, how we doing with Eddie? - Nene, nene, nene, nene.
- I'm just waiting for the right opportunity. - Why?
- Nene, nene, nene, nene. - Is it coming?
- Yes, yes. - Are you going to knock us out?
- Are you going to knock us out? - In the long break.
- Oh, okay. We'll do the full version. - Why?
- Will you be singing that? Why?
- Yeah, I want you to sing it. - Okay, why?
- Okay, when we get to that part.
- Yeah! Eddie! Nice going, Eddie!
- Why?
- Ah! - Nene, nene, nene, nene.
- Hey, cool.
- Why?
- You know, we ought to get that Eddie Vedder on here one day.
- I'm working on it.
- Why?
Why can't it be? Why?
Why?
Why?
- I know someday you'll have a bit of a...
- Buchanan is now telling his supporters he thinks he can go all the way.
That's what Pat Buchanan...
What do you think about that?
Pat Buchanan thinks he can go all the way.
Yeah.
I'm telling you something.
This guy could not go all the way with Madonna.
- Oh!
- Why?
- Get in me! Get in me!
Why?
- La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la!
That's my favorite part.
That part goes on for like 20 minutes.
- Na-na-na-na-na-na.
- Eddie does this for a couple of minutes.
- Why?
- And then the...
- Get 'em on. Get 'em on. Get 'em on. Book 'em.
Pick up the phone. Make the call. Do it.
- You won't answer my phone.
- All right. Thank you very much.
- I love you! I have a beautiful love!
Let's...
- What else is going on? Why?
I know someday...
Why?
Can it be...
- What?
I gotta go to one of Pearl Jam concerts.
I just wanna walk out on stage, stand next to Eddie there like,
"Hello, Eddie."
- And then? And then?
- And then? And then?
- Well then, when it's necessary, when it's needed, Eddie will cue me and I'll
do this.
Why?
- You know, I think that would help record sales.
- Yes, of course.
- Why?
- Uh-huh.
- I know someday I'll have a beautiful...
Why?
Why?
Why?
Why?
Why?
- Yeah?
- Cool. All right.
- Why?
- Uh, ladies and gentlemen, here in my right hand, I have a copy of the old top
ten list. Let's go.
Let's go.
- Eddie!
- Now, you promised me six weeks ago you'd make a call.
- I know, I'm working.
- Call Eddie.
- I'm working on it.
- Ask him, can he be on the show?
- I've placed a few calls.
- All right, I appreciate it.
- I'm not having much success.
- The, uh, huh?
- I'm working on it.
- Huh?
- That's a nice comedy routine Paul and I worked up this afternoon.
- Yeah, well...
- Huh?
- What?
- I'm working.
- Huh?
- I'm working.
- I'm working.
- It's a classic, believe me.
- It's like, who's on first?
- Uh, why?
- Can it be?
- Why?
- Can it be?
- Can it be?
- Why?
- Do me a favor.
Later tonight, get a clock on the...
- I wanna, I wanna find out how long we're going.
- How long that section is.
- Yeah.
- Why?
- Yeah.
- Cool.
- You know what?
- Huh?
- Do you wanna really know how that's done?
- Yeah.
- Have it done right?
- Do it for me, do it for me.
- Okay, Eddie?
- Huh?
Wait a minute.
- Eddie?
- No.
- I know someday you'll have a beautiful life.
- I know you'll be a star in somebody else's sky.
- But why?
- Why?
- Why?
- Why?
- Can it be?
- Or can it be mine?
- Oh, yeah.
- Oh, yeah.
- Eddie!
- Eddie!
- Eddie!
- Eddie!
- Eddie!
- Eddie!
- Eddie!
- Eddie!
- Eddie!
- Eddie!
- Eddie!
- Eddie!
- Eddie!
- Eddie!
- He's gone!
- Eddie!
- Eddie!
- Eddie!
- Eddie!
- Eddie!
- Eddie!
- He's vanished.
He is, he's ghost.
He's history.
He's in a cab.
Right?
- Eddie!
- Eddie!
- Eddie!
- That's pretty cool.
That's pretty cool.
Thank you very much.
That was very nice.
Okay, we gotta do a commercial.
We'll be right back with this.
Eddie, come here!
Come here!
Eddie!
Come here!
Thank you very much.
It's a great pleasure to have you here.
It's a nice job.
Thank you.
Eddie Vedder!
- You know, you know, Paul, not much impresses me,
but I thought that was pretty damn cool.
- It was great.
- Eddie Vedder.
- That's right.
- Eddie Vedder.
- It was a good start.
- Pretty cool.
- That was cool.
- The Late Show, your official Pearl Jam station.
- There you go.
- Tenth caller gets the ticket, so get on those phones now.
- Don't say Ticketron, whatever you do.
- Oh, no, oh, no.
Don't, please don't piss him off.
He was nice enough to come by and do that.
Now, we need a fight between you and Eddie Vedder.
- You're right, no.
- We don't want that.
- You're right, no.
- We'll be right back.
- We'll be right back.
- We'll be right back.
