My next guest, ladies and gentlemen, is the hot new star of NBC's hit series,
The Fugitive Guy.
Here he is in action.
We're awfully happy he's made the time for us. Please welcome Chris Elliott.
Good to see you. Nice to see you. It's very exciting to have you. Thank you
very much for coming by.
Oh, come on, stop it. You know, I love the show. I love Paul. I love everything.
You know, your people, they always call me right when I'm in the midst of doing
so many things, but I like to take time for you.
Well, you know, the problem is you're just too busy. Now, what have you been
doing lately? What's new?
You know, I'm drawing a blank. Wayne, what have I been doing lately?
Photos.
That's right, photos. I've been doing a lot of photo sessions.
Stuff like that.
You know, speaking of photos, I don't want to embarrass you, but you must be
terribly proud about this.
Oh, boy.
October 7th, 1985, the current issue of People Magazine.
Our own Chris Elliott right there on the cover.
What does that say? TV's fugitive guy on the run and on a roll.
Now, you have to admit, things have really been happening pretty quickly for
you, pretty fast.
They really have. You know, sometimes I wonder, maybe they're happening a
little too fast.
Well, you know, I look horrible in that picture, though. I was up all night
there.
I was at, I was at, Wayne, where the hell was I that night?
At Buckwaltz.
Oh, that's right, Buckwaltz. Art Buckwaltz. He's a terrific guy. He throws
great parties. And a dear friend of mine. So I was there all night.
You and Wayne and the guys were at Art Buckwaltz?
Art Buckwaltz.
Yeah. Now, Chris, what else have you got going? The Fugitive Guy and the People
Magazine article? Anything else we ought to know about?
Well, thank you for bringing that up. I've got something that I'm very proud of.
I finally got the chance to do. I've always wanted to do. It's a new line of Fugitive
Guy clothing.
And I think, fashion, I think you have a shot of a couple of my models.
Oh, yeah. Boy, that looks terrific. And it's for men and ladies?
Men and for the ladies.
Yeah, that's terrific.
We're very happy. We're very excited.
Well, good luck. And the Long Hot Summer on NBC here the other night?
Uh-oh.
Well, why don't you tell the folks what happened there?
I was in the Long Hot Summer.
It was a small part, but a part I was proud of.
Yeah, but what happened exactly?
Well, I'll tell you something. Jocko in the tape department here threw a
commercial in right over my scene and no one saw it.
You mean there's a mix-up? A guy ran a commercial when it was supposed to be
the show?
I'll tell you, I know it sounds far-fetched. I was in all the promos. You must
have seen those. I think you have a promo if you want to take a look at it.
Do we have it?
All right. Okay, well, yeah. Let's look at the promo of Long Hot Summer.
What did you do to my wife?
Oh, my God. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow.
Yvonne, sorry about that mix-up. It looked like you were terrific.
I actually wasn't that good, so it doesn't really bother me.
Oh, oh. Well, now, getting back to the fugitive guy, how are things going there?
Are the ratings still holding up for you?
I guess. I don't know. They don't tell me anything. Wayne, how are we doing in
the ratings there?
Just great.
Well, just great. You heard it from Wayne right over there.
Who? I don't believe I met Wayne before.
Those are my people. Those are really my bodyguards there. That's Wayne and Chet.
They take good care of me. They always do.
Gentlemen, nice to see you.
Well, sir, it's time to go.
Time to go. Okay. Well, that's the man. Where are we going, Wayne?
More photos.
Photos. Photo sessions.
Great. Thanks.
Well, thank you very much for stopping by. Nice to see you.
Thank you very much.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
