get ready paul get ready
to the music this is runway 13r out of there at jfk oh look at this looks like
a uh seven
67 or a 7 57 here we go
i stand corrected that's a 737. this is great and it occurs to me now what we
could have done instead of
sending a crew out there with a satellite dish to do this live yeah tape one lousy
plane taken off
and keep replaying it over and over and we wouldn't do that let me tell you a
little bit about this
airport first flights at kennedy airport began july 1st 1948 although it wasn't
kennedy airport then
it was idle wild wasn't it bob yep uh on the average there are a total of 925
takeoffs and landings a
day out there at the airport planes will be leaving now in this period during
our show one to every one
and a half minutes wow wow so your fingers are going to get bruised and stolen
i'm ready
paul how many people do you think passengers went through jfk in 1991 take a
guess oh i have no
how many passengers passed through jfk is it over a million
oddly enough it's far less than a million well it's only about 1200 oh nothing
really no take a guess such a huge 1991 how many passengers people come and
people go 100 000 people
it just makes you wonder doesn't it people 28 million 28 28 million 28 million
28 million people let's go
back out to runway 13r and watch some of them taking off here we go oh look at
this coming up over the
rise on the runway all we see now lights on the aircraft is it is it maybe it's
not moving at all
maybe maybe it's some kind of spaceship here we go oh not
you know i never saw that must have been one of those oh here it is
hey hey hey it hasn't you know it hasn't hasn't even taken off yet
i think i think it may be rolling to a stop
there it goes
you know i'm no pilot but that plane couldn't have been doing more than 40 when
it took off
that was the slowest moving jet airplane i've ever seen in my life we're out of
time ladies and
gentlemen george thank you very much my thanks to johnny cash and also john malkovich
q-tips and
here we will be on air planes good night everybody
