you got there was a blackout the other night i saw your uh did you make a vine
video or something
what do they call them a vine video instagram yeah yeah the guy he somebody
said the other day bill
bird takes a shit on instagram it gets like six million views that's not true
that's not true at
all at all but i'm saying but when you but you do get i'm not good in instagram
you do get some
action i watched it it had like probably 300 000 views which is pretty good no
he got blacked out
he was supposed to come for dave chappelle and it got blacked out yeah and
there was a blackout on the
west side of the so did you even go inside or what we went in and uh we were
wondering why there was
so many people who went in you went in with just who you're with or with dave
no i went in with my
wife and a buddy of ours okay mike binder who directed my i know my specials
yeah i know coming out yeah
which he directs mind of a merry man guy yeah yeah he directs your netflix
things yeah dude you should
see how good this thing looks oh the new one it looks way better than the
material i can tell you
that maybe maybe it'll cross over that's a joke because he's very popular as it
is no he's a good
guy i like that guy yeah he's a great guy so we were walking through and trying
to figure out why there
was so much uh you know the streetlights right no it's just a ton of people and
i was like i guess this
is before the theater crowd or some the excitement yeah there's a buzz in here
people are screaming what the
fuck where tracy morgan's in a soto big chinchilla hat second hand rose to sing
all the songs so
yeah we we went in and they opened the door it was pitch black in there and you
know the
fucking guy had like the you know the minor thing minor thing going on and then
we just stood on the
stage and all these comics were slowly coming in going like who's that who's
that you know and uh
they have emergency lights like generator yeah they did have those and then
those ended up going out and
and then at 8 15 they just called the show and then a whole group of us just
walked down the street
to the comedy cellar and my wife because she's awesome noticed after about 20
blocks there was
this one guy sort of walking with us there was a lot of people walking wasn't
with you yeah that
nobody knew yeah she goes who's that guy i don't know so we kind of stopped and
he kind of stopped
it was like that french connection scene when on the subway like except we were
above ground so then we
just started going again and then we all just stopped and looked at him and
then he just had this
guilty look at his face he just goes what i'm getting my money's worth whatever
the that means
i was like dude i don't know what that means the show got canceled they were
supposed to be a bunch
of comics on the show and you guys are all leaving together it was a
combination of guys like will
who's on the show will still vince i was on the show and then other comics that
showed up and then
we had to watch in a group started we just said let's just walk down to the
cellar because the
subway's out running no way we're getting a cab this is just a show yeah well i
mean it runs on electricity it
wasn't running well wasn't running well and it was dark in the tunnel oh you
don't want to be done
no that's where the chuds get you yeah yeah so we just we just walked down and
this guy walked like
20 something blocks before we were finally like what the are you doing like i'm
with you now that's fine
and then we had to stop twice and then the second time we stopped this day he
like ran away it was so
weird yeah but it's not you know he's not breaking a law he just wanted to be
with you guys he probably
thought i would i would think it'd be interesting when we weren't breaking a
law either telling
him to get the i know but i think it'd be interesting for him to hear what you
guys were
talking about because comics really don't talk about it but he was like like on
the phone and
like instagramming yeah and then if you i don't know what the he was doing it
was weird but dave
wasn't there if he just walked up and said hey guys i was going to go to the
show we would have taken
a picture with him yeah but he came up like a creep yeah that's how i don't
know what to do
uh yeah people don't know what to do if he thinks he says something hey can i
walk with you guys
he'd be like no way let me say i would say no but i can take a picture with you
sure was dave
dave didn't walk down with you did he no he went in a separate group well i'm
kidding yes he had a
car he hadn't come over yet oh i mean the blackout happened between seven and
eight so right so he
wasn't even there how long was a blackout it's like every day for you huh douché
like seven seven
to nine would you drink into into blacking out no it's on my optic nerve just
stopped working it's
a hereditary disease i got from my mother bad luck oh no but you you you would
definitely drink to
black oh yeah i would drink to black oh and this happened let me tell you what
happened yesterday
this is totally day drinking before having a cage just one of the great like
there's the excitement when
you're underage and then once you become of age there's no more excitement and
for those
drinkers out there still looking for the excitement that is day drinking like
during the week when
everybody else is at work yeah like yeah because you have the day off because
you're not doing
anything that's where the excitement is yeah especially in new york because i
would you drink
why would you day drink i didn't do it enough no what would you drink oh man i
would know high
life beer and a and a they go down so easy it feels like it's like four
ounces i don't know why you would just watch much movies on netflix or
something or what i would go
i would go to this bar oh you go to a bar yeah oh yeah in la no i mean i'd go
with a buddy and you
would just sit there and then eat lunch or whatever well what was great was
there would be all these
like the cool alcoholics the quiet ones who knew their drink knew how to pace
themselves knew how to
get stewed without maintenance yeah and you would just and the bartender would
know and you would show
up and what do you whatever you ordered that first time he knew to just keep it
coming so you only had
to order once and you could stay there for hours and you just come over with
like a beer and a shot
a beer and a shot and then if you wanted to change whatever steve sweeney was
on my podcast he told
this great story about him him and uh don gavin yeah and gav's you know was on
the pro level and he
you know he had his drink and like sweeney goes i was different he goes i'd get
i'd get some champagne
and then i have a little bit of wine and blah blah and he said that gab looked
at him one time he goes
steve for fuck's sakes pick a drink i felt like it was just like like a pro
going you're embarrassing
yourself here at the bar yeah have a mojito then i'll have a caipirinha maybe
switch back to a
uh moscow mule those guys still drink steve so then then i like bourbon but if
i was gonna day drink
i always had like what i would have was i would really just have a beer as the
shots kind of kept
coming are you drinking shots not really like sipping like a toilet maker kind
of yeah people who
do shots that's for amateurs you don't do shots that's how you puke what you do
is you just you
you know yeah that's like opening with your clothes see comedy brought back the
comedy for you and then
and then what would you do after you were day drinking you would just go home
and go to sleep
or go cruise apart have a long day day drinking no i would i would come home
and then my wife would
give me i didn't do it a lot but your wife would give you immediately right no
she would laugh or
whatever she never really thought i had until it was um maybe a couple years
ago she asked me because
she goes she goes what's going on with you with this drinking because i used to
say man i think
i got a problem she's like you're fine you're fine and then when she switched
yeah i started thinking
then one day i wanted one more and she goes don't have one more because you're
going to snore a lot
and i poured another one when i was i was walking downstairs the bedroom i was
hiding it on the
other side of my leg and i was just like that was one of the questions have you
ever have you ever
hidden your drinking. I was like, yes, I have.
