170 of the jeselnick and rosenthal vanity project jrvp
junior vice president comedians are pretty spooked right now if we were to just
stay home all the
time we think you guys don't want us to keep pushing boundaries and questioning
authority and calling
people out in the shit and you know we really didn't sign up for this we know
you don't like all
of us you might be offended by some stuff but just know we're doing the best we
can with a lot of
sketchy old tweets we regret we didn't sign up to be heroes
yeah doesn't that feel better nice and smooth just a little behind the scenes
we had to completely
redo the beginning of the podcast including the pre-rolls because greg didn't
plug the thing into
his computer just to play a theme song we did talk for like five minutes we
didn't talk button i just
said i just read the pre-rolls and uh you enjoyed it and i know you enjoy it a
second time you just
held the wire in your hand and said aaron usually does it and then made us do
it was a complicated
uh situation all the plugging in all the technology uh what was that terrible
tweet it was uh that
wasn't whitney cummings was it oh my god because she had the similar ish one uh
yeah the spooky
mental haunted house yeah at the end of her new special she just stops and just
gives this long
speech about about comedy and uh and then she put it out like i saw it i
watched the special
and then she put it out on instagram and a lot of people were taking the audio
from it and doing
funny videos and i was like i've got to write this down and uh try to say it as
verbatim as i can
she's one of your your good friends i like whitney a lot and you respect her
quite a bit but she's on
this whole uh you know we know you're not our you're our heroes no one's saying
that what what
are her bad tweets that she's so worried about we didn't sign up to be heroes
but like what are what
are uh that's just going to get everyone going through her tweets i guess she
wouldn't say that
or send that out until she's already scrubbed them all it's very easy generic
thing people say
about comedy go my old tweets like no i've seen her tweets there's nothing that's
going to get you
canceled it's also very easy to some people just delete it all like no one's
gonna mind and just
start over some people just have it like auto delete every month or whatever
that works no no one's going
back tell whitney she didn't sign up for this i mean yeah i feel like um comedians
are i'm just gonna
like type you know stereotype they're in their own heads right now i feel like
maybe that's every
marketing it's marketing it's like oh we're gonna get canceled support us i
think it's like athletes
um are going through different experiences than any athletes ever before
because of social media and i
think this is comedian and there's too much that it's got them in their own
head where they're sort of
always responding uh to tweets and like kind of what they hear in their
mentions instead of just
like being cool and it sucks it's bad for your mental health i'm cool you're
pretty good at it
because i didn't sign up for this we didn't sign up for it don't cancel us um
last week i talked about
my urge to drink again liz was gone liz is still gone she gets back tonight and
it did not drink
wow yeah that what an upset especially with you you came into the studio quite
low energy
um a little grouchy i would say it was grouchy i was a little tired and uh and
i thought oh he's
been drinking because i i just felt like once you weren't drinking you were you're
kind of in a
better more lively mood but it might just be you were without liz for a week
without liz but as soon
as liz heard the podcast she texted me it was like you're thinking about
drinking and i was like no
i'm not gonna i'm not gonna drink um but i was a lazy piece of shit all week
didn't do any shows
didn't go to the gym didn't do anything hung out with my dog hung out with rummy
why i was i was a
little worried too when we left i i guess i don't feel as um comfortable
telling you what to do or not
maybe i should of like telling you not to drink but that's what i was thinking
as as we pulled away
and i awkwardly was like hey if you want to hang out um with the kids this week
we're going to
griffith park why would you hang out with your kids maybe you want to drink
less i was fine i was just um
i was tired i needed a week to be a piece of shit and now liz gets back tonight
i'll go to the gym
tomorrow i've got shows i've got largo on friday i've got uh i've got shows to
get ready for in october
the tour starts seven weeks there just booked a bunch of uh stuff for 2023 january
february march
really may yeah oh wow it's happening now so it's like yeah i'm gonna be in
tour what's gonna happen
at jrvp i'll be back every tuesday the reason we do it tuesday nights is
because i'll always be in town
okay you know we can we can figure it out don't you worry that's good i have
one week uh in the uk
coming i believe but other than that i think we're locked we're locked in when
is your we can we can
tape two shows uh that is the uh last week of september we don't have to do one
every week too we i mean
jrvp can take weeks off we're only supposed to do like 45 47 episodes a year we
do 52 we can take a
week off now and again we can do whatever we want now that i just found out um
like our youtube
listens or just through the roof and that's just going to be helping uh grow
the jeselnick and
rosenthal vanity project jrvp junior vice president aaron's been practicing
because that's gotten way
sexy it's definitely sexier i there was two uh emails this week this is not
part of email corner
but um just to let you know anthony uh the two listeners did write into jrvp
junior vice president
at gmail.com and was like who's aaron and then one person was like who's darren
so um just you know
if you're if you're popping in you hadn't listened to an episode for a while we
are in a studio here
in burbank all things comedy uh we're on youtube and and aaron is helping us
out with the production
you don't have to report every email that you get i know but that was just a
way to get into like
resetting um for people not everyone listens to every single episode and is
going to know what's
going on it's like a broadcaster thing you know you love i'm the real broadcaster
um i went actually
hung out with one of my friend's kids this week i went to brunch on saturday to
meet up with megan
gailey and she brought her beautiful son and son was like totally best on best
behavior next to her
table baby yeah like a less than a year old sat in this little like little
crate thing that i actually
i got it for its uh baby shower like the thing that you put into a stroller and
you can just take out
with you and we're sitting there gossiping talking talking shit and then we get
and she's like are you
gonna have kids what do you think i'm like i don't want kids she's like oh we'll
see we'll see and then
we get up to leave and she's like would you walk me to my car and i pick up the
baby in the little
like carry thing and it's so fucking heavy i was like if i have any part of me
was thinking about
having a kid before lifting this baby up makes me never want kids like just
carrying the baby from the
restaurant to her car i was like take this fucking thing and get out of here i'm
gonna go home and
hang out with my dog well it's a sign you haven't been going to the gym enough
you know you need that
dad strength i was about as strong as i ever was i don't know i i hate that we're
on camera right now
because i just realized i just like mini flexed uh when the in the camera i
shouldn't be doing that to
you anyways uh you you do i was very strong like when my kids were about a year
and a half right right to
the point where you stopped carrying them uh that was like about as strong as i've
ever been in my
life i mean it's a baby it's just the stuff that comes around the baby is heavy
right but eventually
they keep getting heavier and heavier walker is seven years old he still wants
uh still wants us
to carry him sometimes how old is he seven and he still wants to be carried i
mean just here and
there just sort of joking around um from especially from his mom um but she can't
do it anymore
when do you go from like i'm gonna carry you i'm just gonna push you away from
me
oh yeah like four yeah it's about time uh at times in your life i feel like you
know as your friend
you've you've at least been open-minded to maybe having kids at some point i i've
talked about this
before that it's like before it was like this is impossible you know if you're
in your 20s if i
gotten someone pregnant it's like we're going to get rid of this right now i
cannot do this
there was a brief period where you i feel like like you thought maybe there was
like okay if
something came along maybe you were like kind of open to it but that period
yeah if something
happened i could i would be like okay let's discuss let's discuss all our
options before we move on
there we have options and now i'm like you know what i don't envy any of my
friends who have kids
everyone just it seems like a fucking hassle and if you like are into it it's
because you have
nothing else going on in your life that you're like i'm going to focus on these
kids
that why would i want to do what about me you've got a wife who takes care of
your kids for you
that's not true she does i do a lot i mean she she she does but i mean you're
like a portrait of
dorian gray where like you look like the same as you used to but all the aging
and like the wear
has gone on to your wife whoa you sure you want to put that out there she is
she is she's been
listening she's been she's come back she's she's came she came back i wonder
what changed
um big fan of aaron i i um you shouldn't i don't think you should envy me but
and we're like a
pretty i know you don't i know you don't but and we're quite a wholesome family
we do most things
t
