Now it's 177 of the Jesselnick and Rosenthal Vanity Project.
JRVP.
Junior Vice President.
Beauty is not in the face.
Beauty is a light in the heart.
Intro hitting a little different when we're in different rooms.
Yeah, we're recording separately, which I guess if you're watching our YouTube
show, you would
know, but if you're listening, you can see me elsewhere and you can see Anthony
at the studio.
This is one you definitely want to check out the YouTube when it drops on
Wednesday.
Greg, it's me like I normally would be in the studio and then Greg's giant head,
like a giant
Greg head from a hotel room near his house.
Greg is a little under the weather and normally we would just man up and just
do it.
But since I leave, I start my tour tomorrow.
I leave tomorrow for San Jose and I said, you're not fucking coming in here.
I'm not getting sick before I have to go on tour.
I'm not canceling dates.
And I've been very, very healthy for years now.
And I'm not going to risk it now.
And now when I have money on the line, I could have gotten sick and would have
been fine.
Like I got the booster.
I got the new COVID booster last week and had to take a day.
This is my like second booster I've gotten.
And the first shot didn't do anything to me.
The first booster didn't do anything.
And this one, I took a day and just laid in bed.
It wasn't bad, but it was like, I'm just not getting out of bed.
And I enjoyed myself, but giant head Greg, this reminds me of, do you remember
the baby picture we had of you in LA for a few years?
I don't know what happened to that.
Like we, when Greg and I moved to Los Angeles after college, he threw a bunch
of stuff in his car and then drove to Pittsburgh.
I got my car, threw a bunch of stuff in my car.
And then we drove to LA and like unpacked our cars to see what our lives were
going to be like moving forward.
And I had like normal stuff and Greg had normal stuff.
And then all of a sudden he just had this like framed picture of Greg's baby
face.
I don't know why you packed it, but it was like the proportions were off that
it just looked like a giant baby head that people would walk into our place and
see it and start dying laughing.
What happened to that?
I mean, you, you had it last.
Yeah, I think you left it with me.
You know, it might be in Pittsburgh.
I may have put it in the car.
I don't think I would have left it in LA when I moved to New York.
I think I put it in the car and drove it to Pittsburgh.
And I think I left it.
I think my sisters took it and we're like, this is so funny.
What is this?
And they're like, that's Greg.
And they, they kept it.
But you look like giant baby picture, Greg.
Well, it wasn't even a cute baby.
Or I, maybe I just wasn't a cute baby.
It wasn't a cute picture.
It was just a gigantic.
Yeah.
Looking like a balding, like 45 year old guy kind of face.
Just like a huge closeup on a big fat face and no hair.
I always, I always found it really touching when I would come visit you in LA
and it would
still be there up in your, in your, I guess, main room, like seven years later.
When I, when I met Emika at, in LA for kind of what was our first weekend
dating, it was,
it was at that apartment and I, I got to show her that picture.
I don't know where it is, but yeah, this is, this is embarrassing.
I'm a, I've, I've been sick.
I got sick at the end of my time in London.
I'm a little anxious.
I'm really trying not to get my kids sick.
London is, was just like, there was a lot of people sick there.
There's a lot of going on.
So I'm trying to keep everyone healthy and stay away for a couple of days as
annoying
as it is.
I appreciate it.
How was, how was London?
London was great.
I mean, the sickness definitely put a damper on the end of it.
I didn't end up making it out to the actual game.
But before that it was awesome.
I mean, it kicked my ass.
Like the, the jet lag there.
I'm not someone that would complain about jet lag, but for some reason that
combo in like
a red eye, I don't know.
It kicked my ass this time.
Like Tokyo is always totally fine, but going there, it kicked my ass.
But for the most part, it was fun.
We did a live show.
That was the highlight.
You know, I got to be like Anthony Jessel for a, for a night.
Yeah.
The live show.
You just did one live show or two?
We just did one live show.
And how, how did it sell?
It sold pretty well.
I think it was like 700, 800 people.
Wow.
This, uh, theater.
Uh, it was the first time we've ever done like a show like that.
I would, I would hazard to guess.
It's probably the first American football podcast.
It's ever been like a ticket master ticketed show at a place that winger and,
uh, skid row
were playing later in the month.
Wow.
You're like the, the bros of the NFL.
Um, I, uh, I remember I went to last time I went to London, actually, no, I
went to London
on my European tour and we started in London where I did, I was my friend, Mo
Welch who
opened for me and we did a show at the Borgata in Atlantic city.
And then like a, it was a late show and then I was like, all right, we're going
to, we're
going to go to sleep immediately.
We're going to wake up.
We're going to get this like 5am flight out of like Jersey to go to, uh, to go
to London.
We'll get in like the night before our shows and we'll just like, we'll get
into the hotel,
just pass out, wake up the next day and be like totally cool.
And so I get to the airport.
I think I've taken like a Xanax maybe to travel internationally and I'm
exhausted.
I cannot wait to just sleep on this plane, the whole flight.
And we're waiting, we're waiting by the gate and flying first class.
We're just talking.
And I'm like, look, I'm watching the gate out of the corner of my eye.
I'm like waiting for them to start doing things and they're not.
And I'm like, oh, the flight must be delayed.
And then after like the flights, it's like 10 minutes until the flight's
supposed to leave.
And I walk over to the gate to see what's going on.
And they go, are you Anthony Jeselnik?
And I'm like, yeah, I'm on my way to go to the tour.
And they're like, no, no, no, we don't know.
We don't recognize you.
We're waiting for you.
The plane is closed.
We took your bags off of it.
It has been boarding this whole time.
We were calling you over the PA.
And I didn't hear, I was like, I wasn't wasted.
My opener and I look at each other like, we can't believe this.
And I go over to the desk that like, you can't get on this flight.
I go over to the desk, there's one leaving in like six hours.
And it would get us in like a couple hours before the show.
And I had to just go and like go to sleep in the first class lounge for hours.
Like I was so out of it and then got there and like barely pulled it off in
London.
I was, I was so jet lagged and almost like I wasn't jet lagged and the shows
were great,
but I'll never forget that.
That was a real kick in the nuts.
Don't do that.
Yeah.
I didn't have that experience, but I, I was feeling like trash on the day of
the show.
And I could like genuinely feel the adrenaline of the show, like enter my body
and fix everything
with about 45 minutes to go before the show.
Before that, I just felt like trash all day.
And then like the show is approaching.
We're getting excited.
We're, we're there.
It's like the first time we've ever had, you know, a big dressing room and a
rider and
all that stuff of like, it's our show.
And, um, and it just hit me and like, then I felt like a million bucks and the
show went
amazing.
And I wish I could just, you know, live up on the stage.
And I was just like full of adrenaline after the show too, and stayed up late
that night
and everything, uh, and felt great.
And it, it is kind of amazing.
Like that adrenaline or just like a feeling can just overwhelm, like it's
science and overwhelm
your body and just make you feel better.
And then I was back to feeling like trash the next day.
Do you feel like it was like the pre-show adrenaline or do you feel like it was
just the pre-show
cocaine that you guys shoveled down?
I didn't, I did not have any, uh, pre-show anything or post-show anything.
I didn't drink like the whole week there.
Um, but, uh, no, it was, it was the show.
Like it does.
It makes me jealous of you.
Like I, it makes me just want to be on stage more.
I have that experience every year when we go there, but I have a very weird
sort of onstage
experience now, which is that we do it like twice a year, once at the Superbowl,
once
in London, like they always go great, um, because it's our audience.
We don't have to like win anyone over.
It's much easier, obviously than what you do.
Like every little inside joke we make about the podcast, people just fucking,
they just
love it.
They eat it up.
It's great.
Um, but then that's it.
It's just like twice a year and that, that's all we get.
I want more.
I'm kind of addicted to it.
You think I was joking about the cocaine, but Roger Goodell has said that when
you guys
go to London, it's like international waters that anything goes.
There are, there really are no rules.
The only rule is that there are no rules.
Am I wrong about that?
Um, no, you're not wrong.
I mean, I wouldn't, I wouldn't be, I wouldn't be surprised if, uh, the London
audience was
getting into a little extra too.
Speaking of international waters, uh, what do you, how, what was the take on
the Antonio Brown
situation, uh, this weekend?
Because I saw, uh, I saw the video of Antonio Brown in a swimming pool in Dubai,
uh, putting
his butt in the face of a, a woman, a, uh, a young, a young lady in the pool
who's like
trying to laugh, but also trying to get away.
And then he just pulls it out and is holding his penis in his hands.
Uh, it's horrifying to watch.
I can't believe he didn't get arrested.
I didn't watch it because I heard about it.
I was like, I don't want to watch that.
Why would I want to watch that?
You don't need to see it.
It's, it's real quick.
Uh, it just like, it just kind of came up on, on screen for me.
Um, when I Google Antonio Brown penis every morning, um, but, uh, people in the
comments
were like, how did he do this in Dubai?
How is he getting aw
