JRVP.
Junior Vice President.
Go on, drop it, Joe.
Make these bitches bop their head, bro.
I like it when you come with a fire to start the show.
That's a tone setter.
I like our theme song.
Our theme song psychs me up, and I think that set me up.
Do you want to know what that's from?
That was my way of asking, yeah.
This is part of my Spotify experimentation where I've been a Spotify boy now in
2023.
And I was listening to White Stripes Radio, and they introduced me to this band
called Left Lane Cruiser that I thought was fucking awesome.
And there's a song called Big Mama that I've been listening to on repeat.
And at one point, he just stops and goes, go on, drop it, Joe.
Make these bitches bop their head, bro.
And then it just kicks in another thing, and I love it when they say that.
I thought I'd break it out here.
I mean, this has really changed your life, Spotify.
You're really, like, your mind is blown by the, like, stuff like White Stripes
Radio, hip-hop mixes.
You came in today singing the latest Flo Millie hit, which I'm a Flo Millie fan.
I appreciated that.
Yeah, I honestly, I feel like back in the day when, like, Russians would defect
to America and go to a grocery store and just start crying.
Like, they just didn't understand.
It was like, oh, I thought grocery stores just had one of everything.
It's like, no, they've got a whole bunch of shit.
That's what Spotify is to me.
But I guess I'm just feeling myself I'm conceited.
You know, what can I?
I wanted you to do it because there's no way, like, you don't have the flow to
say all those words quick enough as Flo Millie.
Neither do I.
Feeling myself I'm conceited.
It just doesn't sound good from us.
Feeling myself I'm conceited.
I'm really good at it.
Aaron, give me one.
Feeling myself I'm conceited.
Aaron's the best, maybe.
Aaron's the best of all of us, as you would have predicted.
Let's talk about the Steelers first of all.
Wow.
Okay.
Just wrapped up week 18 of the season.
That's right.
And the Steelers were in it.
I thought we were going to make the playoffs.
I'm watching the Steeler game.
I'm following the Steeler game.
I'm watching Patriots-Bills because I didn't get the Steeler game on my network
or whatever.
But I'm watching it on the internet.
And I'm like, oh, we're going to fucking win this game.
This is great.
Steelers are playing great.
We're going to make some noise.
And I'm watching the Patriots losing to the Bills.
I'm like, okay, perfect.
I'm like, oh, let me just check and make sure the Jets are beating the Dolphins
like they're supposed to.
The Dolphins are garbage without Tua.
And it's like 6-6.
And I'm like, oh, I'm so fucked.
The Jets are going to take it down to the very last second and then lose.
And I'm not going to go to the playoffs because of that.
And I was okay.
I was at peace with it.
It's nice.
The winning season was all I was hoping for.
And that was like a reach at the beginning of the season.
I was like, if we go 9-8, I am beyond thrilled with the season.
But the playoffs would have been a little extra icing on the cake.
And the Steelers were playing great by the end of the season.
That it would have been fun to – I'm sure we would have gotten dismantled by
Buffalo.
But it would have been fun to see.
It would have been fun to see.
They were playing great.
I wanted to see them.
The Dolphins feel like a team that's not going anywhere to me.
I don't know why you were so confident that the Jets,
with Joe Flacco starting at quarterback, were going to help you out.
But that is a helpless feeling.
I remember back in 2002, I was working at Fox Sports.
We were roommates in Los Angeles.
Last day of the season, Patriots needed a win but needed the Jets,
I believe it was the Jets, to lose their game.
And they didn't – they won.
And it ended up knocking the Patriots out.
Yeah.
It's tough.
But I think it was a good year for the Steelers.
I think people have hope going into the next season.
And people are singing Tomlin's praises because that winning season streak is
still alive.
I think it's underrated not to end the season on a loss.
Every other team that makes the playoff does, except for one.
You get this happy feeling.
You almost get this fake happy ending.
Like, the Lions got that on Sunday night by beating the Packers.
Like, losing in the playoffs is painful.
I mean, yeah, but there was an article in The Athletic being like,
the Steelers may have lucked out by not getting the playoffs,
because now they leave being on this high of winning season.
But they would have been fine if they had gone and gotten their ass handed to
them by Buffalo.
It would have been cool to make the playoffs.
It would have been great experience for Pickett and Harris.
Like, I would have been into it, but I'm not.
I can't be too upset.
I think it's a miracle we were 9-8.
I'm just glad we talked football here,
so that we can stay categorized as a football podcast on Spotify for some
reason.
We're like the number one sports podcast in Belgium, some listener told me, or
something crazy.
I think you're a bigger name in the sports, in the football world, than I am in
the comedy world.
So it's just like you see two of us together, like they must be talking about
football.
You know, I don't know if it would be comedy.
I mean, you say that because you think it's funny to imagine a world in which
that is true.
Do I look like I'm laughing?
But it's not that far away.
You know, we got Game Day View on Friday nights.
We got the Around the NFL podcast.
How's the NFL Network doing, like in terms of getting sold to anyone?
It's doing great.
You know, we got the, we got, what else?
I don't know.
That's about it.
Good argument.
NFL now.
I'm 20 years in the game.
This is my 20th season.
You were there.
You helped encourage me to go work in sports back in the day.
How crazy that I'm celebrating my 20th anniversary in comedy the same year you're
celebrating your
20th anniversary in football.
Two fields we got into that there was like zero chance of us doing anything
other than be
miserable.
And here we are doing a podcast.
Unbelievable.
You do got a new, fresh cardigan for the YouTube viewers.
This is not a cardigan.
This is actually a hooded sweater.
It's a great airplane sweater.
I broke it out to go to Spokane this weekend.
Had a great time in Spokane.
Six sold out shows.
Damn.
I've been to Spokane a couple times on the road.
I like it.
It's like a cooler Seattle.
In terms of like, Seattle is a cool town, but it's not my kind of cool.
I prefer kind of a Spokane.
And again, I'm not drinking.
So I didn't really get to enjoy Spokane for all it's worth, but it had some fun
stuff.
Got to walk around.
The weather wasn't too bad.
And the shows were awesome.
All shows I need.
I always need that like that first show.
Like the first show of a tour is like, let me rip this bandaid off.
Let me get the rust off.
And I did, but I'm like covered in sweat.
I'm like, the show's going great.
Audience is awesome.
But I'm like, what's wrong with me?
Why am I sweating like so much?
And again, I am wearing a leather jacket.
I've been wearing a leather jacket during a lot of these shows and I've been
fine.
But in Spokane, from the second I get on stage, I'm just like dripping.
And I'm like, what's the matter with me?
And then after the second show, I'm like, maybe I was just rusty and I was,
maybe it was nerves.
And I'm like, oh, the second show will be fine.
Go out there.
And as soon as I get out for the second show, covered in sweat.
I'm like, what the fuck?
And the next day, they were like, oh, sorry about last night.
I'm like, what do you mean?
They're like, oh, we had the heat turned up way too high.
Like it was so hot in there that like, did you notice it?
And I was like, yeah, I noticed it.
But then the rest of the weekend was fantastic.
I'm looking forward to West Palm Beach this weekend, taking Liz.
I might get to see Mike Valdesvale.
Mike said he was going to come with Maggie, with Mrs. Number Two.
But I don't know.
I haven't heard exactly what show.
So hopefully he makes it down.
But otherwise, I'm going to go enjoy that 70 degree weather in Florida for a
couple of days.
Yeah, it's been raining like crazy here.
The mudslides.
Malibu school district was closed, which we're kind of a part of, right next to
it for the kids today.
That's exciting.
I like to think that you're kind of a cool customer, but you are a sweaty guy.
People don't know that about Anthony.
I'm not a sweaty guy.
I just can't.
When I do sweat, it's all face sweat, and it drives me crazy.
I'm doing our live show next Wednesday.
If there's any JRVP listeners that hear this, that are coming to my Around the
NFL show, definitely yell out JRVP.
Or if in the Q&A, like ask a question about JRVP, that'll just like annoy the
other hosts.
So I would appreciate that.
Let me take it one step further, if I might.
Don't just yell out JRVP.
I want one person to stand up.
To stand up and just scream out JRVP.
And then just keep standing.
And then another person to stand up and yell out JRVP and keep standing.
And then once everyone's standing, once there's no one else left to stand up
and say JRVP one at a time,
I want everyone who's standing to just start chanting, JRVP, JRVP, until the
show is over.
I want to watch those guys' heads explode.
Greg will be cool.
Greg will enjoy it.
But the other two, I want to see their heads explode.
I want it.
Do it for me.
It's not going to happen.
We'll see.
You need to do a JRVP live show for that to happen.
Someday.
We could.
I mean, we already did one that I got us.
We'll do another one one day.
We'll see.
I'm like as much of a showman as I am here.
Put me on a stage.
Forget it.
Oh, yeah.
Because I remember the live show that we did.
And it was kind of like me carrying you around that stage.
That's not true.
You didn't even give me an option to speak.
And that was fine.
I gave you the option to speak.
You just ran it.
I ran it.
It was awesome.
I would do some live shows.
I don't know if I would.
Because some people will.
You know, let's say I'm going to West Palm Beach this weekend.
I've already got two shows Thursday because I added a show.
But normally it would be like, okay, I do the Thursday show stand up.
And then a podcast afterwards, a live podcast.
And then you just do the rest of the weekend.
But I'm not doing that on this tour because I've got an extra show.
But at some point, maybe me and you will bring podcast festivals back.
There used to be a lot of them before the pandemic that maybe they'd do that
again.
But I don't know.
You've got
