slash men promo code jrvp you might say oh greg how many takes did that take
you that was amazing that
was one take five pre-rolls it means we're making up for lost time we got stuff
to talk about with
anthony his special bones and all is out he had a big-ass feature written about
him he was on jimmy
kimmel and uh the healthcare ceo got shot too all coming up in episode 253 of
the jeselnick and
rosenthal vanity project jrvp junior vice president this isn't goodbye it's
fuck off
we got the podcast promo cover of us in those bathrobes from years ago we look
like younger men
anthony back then we certainly were we certainly were younger men back in the
comedy central days
what year was that 2018 maybe 2017 i bet it's 2017 yeah sounds about right yeah
almost 10 years ago
that's crazy they paid us way too much actually not really not really yeah at
the time i thought it
was too much but in hindsight we were considering we had no ads they were overpaying
for like for just
putting us out for a year yes they did not find any uh they didn't do anything
but once we got ads
we made way more uh than that but you know i was thinking about it this is the
last episode
wait is it you're breaking this news to me i don't know if i buy this this is
and listen again
everything is on the table maybe in the off season maybe the super bowl ends
and greg is like hey
anthony how you feeling you know you want to come in and do an episode and i
say yeah that sounds fine
that is totally on the table and i could see it happening it's possibility but
or maybe even like a
little serious we we knock out a bunch over a couple months you know we come
and go yeah we we do
something it's under the jrvp banner maybe there's a tv show we like we want to
come into recaps
anything is on the table but i'll tell you this like i driving in here today
like when i i always
talk about when i'm on tour and i'm like i'm sick of the tour i can't wait for
this to be over
and the last show i'm on stage and i'm like god i would sign up for another
year right now
like i'm loving this so much no part of me today is upset this is the last
episode you say that and
yet maybe that's the reason you seem like you're in a good mood and i feel like
you look healthier
there's maybe a weight off of you that wasn't even there the last time i saw
you maybe even on
thanksgiving you know you're just you're coming off the road you're feeling
better but who knows if
how you're gonna feel in a couple months i'm getting listen i'm getting better
every day
uh kimmel was a couple nights ago that's that's a stressful thing to go through
uh jimmy kimmel
is my friend i've known him for a long time so it was the easiest of those to
do uh i felt like a pro
going in there like talking to the to the second producer beforehand it took
five minutes i was like
here's what i want to talk about he laughed at everything was like jimmy you'll
be great with this
now that like jimmy and i are friends it's like a different thing now than when
i used to go in
and they're like we don't know you got to say this instead of that this time
there were some of the
rules that i couldn't do like they didn't want me to say that rummy was rescued
from a korean meat
factory they didn't want me to talk about korean people eating dog meat and i
was like oh no i'm
going to say they don't they don't do that anymore they shut that down they're
like yeah they just
don't want to mention it but that was their only thing and then jimmy and i
mostly just riffed
like most of the stuff we talked about on the show wasn't even in the plan it
was just us fucking
around but uh but i had a great time i had a great time but as soon as that was
over it was like okay
all i have now is one last episode of jrvp and then uh and then i'm doing uh nfl
daily next week i got
the call you had you had to be reminded yeah you you said this was your last
thing so that makes sense
it's the end of the year it's been a hard year you've worked your ass off i
have two that's why i got
to get you over on nfl daily i have to remind you yes next week all you jazzle
heads out there you
got to check out nfl daily i i wonder when we're going to drop that episode
either wednesday
or thursday who knows when we drop this episode we might drop this we're taping
this on a friday we
might drop it tonight and just be like here you go early christmas present last
christmas present
uh have yourself a merry little christmas but we might maybe drops tuesday uh
but i will be i'm
going to be doing things i will be i'm not like retiring i'm just not going to
do this anymore
and it will be very difficult to get me onto a podcast i i hear you and i
believe i believe you
what i did find the last time we we taped the jessel nick and rosenthal vanity
project
junior vice president that it was a lot of you saying how much you didn't want
to do it and that you
didn't like it but that we spent an hour and 48 minutes doing it and i think uh
i think you had
fun and i don't even know if you noticed this but uh the episode popped a
little bit a little you
know bigger uh bigger audience on youtube i checked the audio numbers a bit big
pop for jessel nick right
now i would believe it i mean listen we we took some time off uh and again part
of it knowing that
it's ending as as helped me uh get through it um i'm just again i stand by i'm
tired of podcasting
and listen people who've listened to this throughout throughout the series know
when i'm having fun and
when i'm not and there was a while where it was like really silly it was really
fun we're having a good
time and now i'm just excited to do something else i don't hate the podcast i
just really love
i my favorite thing about my life is what i get to do now which is starting
from scratch and writing jokes
and working on material when i have nothing else like going on like you know if
i was trying to add jokes
to my last hour it's like well i have this transmit it's got to fit in with
that i don't
have to do any of that i'm just writing jokes and as of last night i printed
them up this morning
i have 100 jokes that i've started writing since the tour ended uh that i'm
excited to start trying
these out in uh january that's awesome and so yeah it's been great it's been
fun i've enjoyed writing
them i don't know maybe they're good maybe they're not some have made me laugh
i try to forget about
them and move on uh some might be really silly but i'm excited to get back out
there and just work on
new jokes it's my favorite thing i love to do it and everything else can can
suck eggs yeah i we
probably shouldn't start every jrvp if there ever is another with like a 10
minute conversation about
how much you don't want to do it anymore i feel like that's a bummer for the
listeners who do love
it although i gotta say you start every other podcast talking about how much
you don't like jrvp
it's crazy so anthony was on levitard dan levitard who's great and right off
the bat he's like oh one
of your your best friends is a sports writer you have a podcast with him and
that you had a whole
like five minutes on that and your first thing you say is like yeah but you
know it's not very like
how's that doing you're like well it's not very successful that that's the
first thing it's not
very successful it's just it's just a little thing and it's like okay fine and
then i listened to
you on marin you know tom rosenthal is listening huge fan of marin same thing
the podcast comes up
at some point and you just can't even wait to like get in it's like yeah well
it's not very successful
it's not very successful i've been so anti-podcasting in the past like two
months that i can't be like but
listen to mine but mine's good first of all define success we're 253 episodes
deep here
our audience is not tiny but they are meaningful i mean maybe they're not as
big as rogan but i'm not
i'm not defining success that way it's it's pretty it's a pretty big audience
and they fucking they
love you and it's it's a different audience maybe than than your stand-up
audience and more importantly
i define success the good times we had along the way anthony like you wanted we
wanted to do this
as friends together with that success i'll disagree that we're not as big as rogan
we are the liberal
joe rogan we are the last line of defense uh we're going to bring we're going
to run kamala back next
in four years and uh and get her on there we're getting her on the show we're
getting tim waltz on
the show um yeah i just i i just i know we're ending it so it feels weird to
promote a podcast
that i'm ending while i'm promoting the special but promoting the special look
thank you everyone
who's watched the special uh i've been very happy with it i get a call from netflix
uh next week where
they give me some initial numbers i'm excited to see if they're happy that they
put it over thanksgiving
weekend um or uh but but listen all the reviews have been great i've been it's
been on the top 10
list this whole time yeah the uh the the vulture piece and now fortune feimster
is uh her special
debut this week uh so i see her coming up there i'm happy to share the stage
with fortune um the
vulture piece was great uh i had a couple nitpicks i i do not drink distilled
water catherine i don't
know where you what you open up my fridge and saw distilled water i know what
distilled water is
it's what you put in the coffee
